Refugee Week June 22, 2022 – Posted in: Book News, Refugees

Refugee Week

Refugee Week is a UK-wide festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary. It was founded in 1998 and is held every year around the World Refugee Day on the 20 June.

At Bags of Books we aim to stock children’s books that showcase charcaters from all walks of life, making sure that books are accessible for children to learn about the different lives and struggles people have.

Below is a selection of titles to help children in your classrooms understand more about refugees.

Picture Books

A selection of Refugee themed picture books. These can be used to start conversations with children across year groups.

Fiction Books

These fiction books aimed at KS2 will encourage readers to start discussions about the wider world.
